Strike Anywhere?

Looking to light a candle, I searched for matches in my friend’s cupboard. The box I found seemed old, but who cares, they’re Strike Anywhere! So the thing I discovered about “strike anywhere” is: Anywhere you strike them, they don’t light– including the wall, my arm, the side of the box. Perhaps “Strike Anywhere” is a misnomer, and is referring to what you’d like to do with your angry fist after 10 failed matches. Maybe they need to get together with the One-Size-Fits-All manufacturers and think up some new, more accurate slogans– or at least they could get together to start burning those hideous “one size fits all” oversize novelty tees…

So far I’m enjoying my stay in small town Colorado. The scenery, the wind, and the exciting new stereotypes I’ve learned. Like that republicans are pro-drinking and driving. And vegetarians are limp-wristed. And that’s just from a week of being here! I have so much more to learn!

Welcome to the blog of Los Angeles-based filmmaker, writer, comedian Sari Karplus. Several years late on every trend, Sari (pronounced like Mary) has fancily joined the blogosphere. Hopefully soon she'll go on to discover other new fads like how to speak in first person. Until then, please enjoy the ride.
