Why do you suppose they named a casino Morongo? (Go, Moron, Go!)
Is it an attempt at subliminal advertising to lure in the lowest class of patrons, “Morons?” They’re suckered into spending their life savings on Wheel of Fortune slots. (Just like the real Wheel of Fortune without all the pesky thinking!) Maybe they got their name from the word “Morongo”– an old Native American term meaning, “Takes money back from land-stealing white man one loser at a time.” Don’t quote me on that translation, though, my tribal language skills are a little rusty…
